PARKING INFORMATION

Car Parking

Liberty Science Center’s parking lot is owned by the State of New Jersey and operated by Central Parking. The Science Center does not receive parking revenue. The lot accommodates 750 cars and overflow parking is available right around the corner. The fee for cars and vans during the day is $7.00 and during evening events the fee is $5.00 each. The parking lot is staffed only during operational hours. We do not recommend leaving your vehicle after hours.

Coming Soon!

Watch as the parking lot is transformed into a huge solar energy field. Starting this fall, cars will park under our elevated solar panel array and we’ll harvest energy from the sun.

Bus Parking

Our parking lot can accommodate up to 60 buses and offers head-in parking, so riders never have to cross active traffic areas. Fees are $10.00 per day for private and school buses.

Overflow Parking

If additional parking spaces are required, guests may park in the NJ Transit Hudson-Bergen Light Rail parking lot at the Liberty State Park station, located just a three-minute walk from Liberty Science Center, directly under the Turnpike overpass. For bus overflow parking, please inquire at the Science Center parking lot kiosk.

Guests with Special Needs

A small drop-off area is available near the Science Center entrance for dropping off guests with special needs. Please enter from Phillip Street, drop off guests, and then proceed to the parking lot entrance. This area is not a drop-off location for parents with strollers. For questions about Special Needs, call the Welcome Desk at 201.253.1599 during business hours.
